JeVIC Car inspection in South Africa For Kenya
AVECS CC., a representative of Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center Co. Ltd. (JEVIC) a Japan registered company, is the service provider for Kenya Roadworthiness Inspections in South Africa as of the January 2012. All fees and inspection criteria are regulated by the Kenya Bureau of Standards. Please direct all enquires to the JEVIC representative in South Africa, AVECS CC.

Inspection Criteria in South Africa
The inspection is to assess the vehicle for;
a. Vehicle must not exceed the eight (8) year age limit. Based on the year of first registration, which will not be more than one year from the date of manufacture.
b. Right hand drive vehicles only.
c. Road Worthiness Inspection. The vehicle must be presented with an original vehicle Registration Certificate and the roadworthiness certificate (CRW) with at least 4 months validity.

Inspection Fees
All inspection fees must be paid in the form of bank remittance, and the corresponding bank statement is to be submitted at the time of booking. Inspection Fee: ZAR1998.00, including tax, per inspection. [Note: This includes a KEBS administration fee of US$34.00.]
CERTIFICATE: JEVIC RWI Certificate will be dispatched COD once the vehicle successfully passes the inspection process.
Note: Any vehicle not inspected in Japan, UK or South Africa and arriving in Kenya will incur a fee calculated on 15% CIF and subject to inspection upon arrival by KEBS.
