Zambia Pre-Export Roadworthiness Inspection in United Kingdom
The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has appointed the Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center Co Ltd (JEVIC) for the Pre-Export Roadworthiness Inspection (RWI) of used vehicle from Japan, UK, Singapore, Dubai and *South Africa destined for use within the Republic of Zambia. From the 14th May 2009, all used vehicles exported from above countries will be required to be inspected by JEVIC. Inspection bookings will commence one week prior, starting from the 7th May 2009.
*South Africa based inspections will commence at a later date to be confirmed.

Inspection Criteria
The inspection is to assess the vehicle for;
a. ZABS Road Worthiness Inspection.
b. The vehicle should be free of CFC (R12) gas.
c. No age limitation of manufacturing year of vehicle.
d. Left hand drive and Right hand drive are acceptable.
The vehicle must be presented with an original DVLA Registration Certificate (V5C) and MOT Test Certificate (VT20) with at least 4 months validity.
Inspection Arrangement
Inspections can either be undertaken at the client nominated address, or at the static
inspection site in Tilbury.
Fees
All inspection fees must be remitted to JEVIC prior to inspection booking, and the
corresponding remittance advice submitted at the time of booking.
Inspection at Clients premises: £125.00 + VAT
Inspection at Static site: £105.00 + VAT
RWI Certificate:
JEVIC RWI Certificate will be dispatched COD once the vehicle
successfully passes the inspection process.
Note: Any vehicle not inspected in UK and arriving in Uganda will incur a fee calculated on 15% CIF and subject to inspection upon arrival by ZABS.
