Toyota Hilux Safety: Unbreakable Hilux
With its go anywhere, do anything attitude, we are constantly working to ensure HiLux remains unbreakable, no matter what gets thrown at it. At the same time we do everything we can to ensure the vehicle is equipped with outstanding levels of safety through both ‘passive’ and ‘active’ safety features.
We know Australia has some of the toughest working conditions on earth, so every HiLux manufactured for Australia is tested against Toyota’s Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) passive safety assessment program. The HiLux cabin is designed to absorb impact in the event of an accident. It comes complete with side door anti-intrusion beams and a Head Impact Protection Structure (HIPS), to help absorb impact. It also has a cross member at the front end of the frame, helping prevent smaller vehicle intrusion.
While HiLux blitzes our own Rigorous Global Safety Programme, it’s also tried and tested every day by hundreds of thousands of satisfied owners, in all weather conditions and on all terrains, across Australia.
From SRS Airbags (driver and front passenger) and ABS brakes, which are standard across the range, to Crumple Zone technology and Vehicle Stability Control (available on select models)#, HiLux offers active and passive safety measures designed to ensure that not only is it the most reliable, hardworking member of your team, it’s also the safest.
