Toyota Hilux Design: Privacy Glass
HiLux will often be loaded up with all the expensive gear needed for a job. So you’ll want to know that it is as secure as possible, wherever the job takes you. With security in mind, the SR5 Double-Cab models come fitted with privacy glass on the rear door and back windows. When you drive a HiLux, you’ll get used to people checking it out. But to ensure no one takes a fancy to the equipment stored inside, privacy glass helps prevent viewing into the interior. But privacy glass isn’t simply about security. It also acts as an important shield against harmful UV rays, which is good to know when you’ve got a long trip to a work-site, on a hot summer’s day.
The engine immobiliser system automatically cuts the engine and fuel injection whenever your registered key is removed from the ignition. Should someone else then try to start your HiLux with an unregistered key, the system blocks an ignition signal and a fuel injector control signal, so the engine cannot be started.
But being HiLux, it doesn’t stop there. Working alongside the privacy glass as part of the security system are remote central locking (not available on WorkMate) and an engine immobiliser. Central locking offers safety and convenience.
